What are skin boosters?

Skin boosters are a category of injectable treatments built on lightweight, low-density hyaluronic acid — the same hydrating molecule used in dermal filler, but formulated and placed differently. Rather than adding volume or shape, they're distributed in fine micro-droplets just beneath the skin's surface, where they draw in and hold moisture.

The result is skin that looks and feels better from within: more hydrated, more even in texture, with a healthier bounce and glow. Skin boosters don't change the contours of your face — that's the key distinction from dermal filler, and the reason many clients choose them for skin quality rather than shape.

At Radiance, skin boosters are used for general hydration and glow, for improving crepey or dehydrated-looking skin, and as a complement to other treatments where skin quality (not volume) is the main concern.

Is this right for me?

This may be suitable if you want to discuss:

Not sure? That's exactly what your free consultation is for.

When this may not be right: This may not be suitable if your main concern is lost volume or contour — dermal filler is usually the better fit there — or if you're looking for a single dramatic change rather than a gradual improvement in skin quality. April will talk this through honestly during your consultation.

Your consultation with April.

Every appointment begins with a free consultation, where April will talk through your goals, assess suitability and explain what may or may not be appropriate. The focus is subtle, considered treatment — never pressure or over-treatment.

Our approach.

Skin boosters are one of the more forgiving treatments in aesthetics — there's very little risk of looking "done," because nothing is being added in volume. That makes them a good entry point for clients who are curious about injectable treatments but not ready for anything that changes their shape.

The aim is skin that looks healthier and more hydrated, as if you've simply been sleeping well and drinking more water — not skin that looks treated. Results build gradually over a short course of sessions, then settle into a maintenance rhythm every few months.

What to expect at your appointment.

Consultation and suitability check — every appointment begins with a conversation about your skin, your goals and whether skin boosters are the right fit, or whether something else would serve you better.

Treatment plan — April will explain the area to be treated, how many sessions are likely to help, and roughly what to expect along the way.

The treatment itself — a series of fine micro-injections across the treatment area. Around 30 minutes in total, with topical numbing available if needed.

Aftercare advice — clear guidance on what's normal in the first 24–48 hours, including any mild swelling or small bumps, which settle quickly.

Follow-up — guidance on timing for further sessions and ongoing maintenance, based on how your skin responds.

Price and course.

Skin boosters start from £120 per session. A short course of two to three sessions, spaced a few weeks apart, is typically recommended to build results, with maintenance every few months afterwards. April will explain the recommended approach clearly before you decide whether to go ahead.

"The aim is skin that looks healthier — not skin that looks treated."

Frequently asked.

How is this different from dermal filler?

Dermal filler adds volume and shape — useful for lips, cheeks or jawline. Skin boosters don't add volume; they hydrate the skin from within, improving texture, firmness and glow without changing your contours. Many clients use both, for different reasons.

Does it hurt?

Most clients describe a series of small pinches, similar to fine micro-injections. Topical numbing cream can be applied beforehand if you'd prefer. It's generally well-tolerated, even by clients who are nervous about needles.

Is there downtime?

Minimal. Small bumps at the injection points are normal initially and settle within a day or two. Mild redness can occur but usually fades quickly. Most clients return to normal activity straight away.

How many sessions will I need?

A course of two to three sessions, spaced a few weeks apart, is typically recommended to build results. After that, most clients return for a maintenance session every few months to keep results topped up.

When will I see results?

Some clients notice a hydration boost within days, but the fuller improvement in skin texture and firmness develops gradually over two to four weeks as the product draws in moisture and integrates with the skin.

Is it suitable for me?

Most people looking to improve skin hydration and quality are good candidates. It's especially popular with clients who want a noticeable improvement without changing their facial shape. Your free consultation will confirm whether it's the right fit for your skin and goals.

What does it cost?

Skin boosters start from £120 per session. A course of two to three sessions is typically recommended, with the full approach and cost explained clearly at your consultation before you decide whether to go ahead.

Where will I be treated?

The main Radiance clinic is in Storrington, West Sussex. April also runs sessions in Hove — weekly at Zone4 Hove and a monthly clinic at the Engineerium in Hove Park. See the Hove page for full venue details.
