What is PRP?
PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma — a concentrated solution prepared from a small sample of your own blood. Platelets contain growth factors that signal the body to repair, renew and regenerate tissue. By concentrating those platelets and re-introducing them to specific areas, PRP harnesses your body's natural healing process for aesthetic outcomes.
The treatment is sometimes called the "vampire facial" in popular press, which slightly underplays what is actually a serious, evidence-based regenerative therapy. PRP is used in sports medicine for tendon and joint repair, in orthopaedics for soft-tissue healing, and in dermatology for skin and hair restoration.
At Radiance, PRP is offered for three specific aesthetic applications: skin restoration, hair restoration, and under-eye rejuvenation. All use the same technique — just applied differently to different areas.
Is PRP right for me?
This may be suitable if you want to discuss:
- Improving overall skin tone, firmness or texture without filler
- Thinning hair, early pattern loss, or wanting to support healthy regrowth
- Tired-looking or hollow under-eyes where filler doesn't feel right for you
- A more natural, gradual approach to skin quality and renewal
- A treatment option that uses your own biology rather than an injectable product
Not sure? That's exactly what your free consultation is for.
When this may not be right: This may not be suitable if you want an instant or dramatic result, or if another treatment would be more appropriate for your concern. April will talk this through honestly during your consultation.
Your consultation with April.
Every appointment begins with a free consultation, where April will talk through your goals, assess suitability and explain what may or may not be appropriate. The focus is subtle, considered treatment — never pressure or over-treatment.
Three treatment areas.
Skin restoration — PRP applied to the face stimulates collagen production and improves overall skin quality. Most effective for tone, firmness, fine lines and texture. A course of three sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks apart, is recommended for visible results. Excellent for clients in their 30s, 40s and beyond who want to invest in long-term skin quality without filler.
Hair restoration — PRP injected into the scalp can stimulate dormant or weakening hair follicles, used for male and female pattern thinning, alopecia, and general fine or thinning hair. Particularly effective when started early — before significant hair loss. Course of three sessions initially, with maintenance every 6–12 months.
Under-eye rejuvenation — PRP is often a better choice than dermal filler for the delicate under-eye area, where the goal is improved skin quality and reduced dark circles rather than added volume. Gentler, more gradual, more natural.

Book Free ConsultationHow the treatment works
A small sample of blood is drawn — typically 10–20ml, equivalent to a routine blood test. The sample is then placed in a centrifuge for around 10 minutes, which separates the plasma and concentrates the platelets.
The resulting PRP is then applied to the treatment area: either by micro-needling (for general skin restoration) or by direct injection (for under-eye and hair work). Treatment time including blood draw, centrifuge, and application is around 60 minutes.
Because the product is entirely your own biology, allergic reactions are virtually impossible. There is no foreign substance, no risk of rejection, no risk of long-term migration. It is one of the safest aesthetic treatments available.
What to expect at your appointment.
Consultation and suitability check — every appointment begins with a conversation about your goals, medical history and whether PRP is the right fit. Nothing is rushed.
Treatment plan — April will explain which application (skin, hair or under-eye), how many sessions are likely to help, and roughly what to expect along the way.
The treatment itself — a small blood draw, a short wait while it's prepared, then application by micro-needling or injection. Around 60 minutes in total.
Aftercare advice — clear guidance on what's normal in the first 24 hours and how to support your results afterwards.
Follow-up — ongoing guidance on timing for further sessions, based on how your skin or scalp responds.
Price and course.

Frequently asked.
Does PRP really work?
Yes — it is one of the more evidence-backed regenerative treatments in aesthetics. Studies consistently show improvements in skin texture, fine lines and hair density when PRP is delivered correctly. Results are gradual, building over 6–12 weeks as the body responds to the growth factor signals.
How many sessions do I need?
For most applications, a course of three sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks apart, is recommended for initial results. Maintenance treatments every 6–12 months keep results stable. Some clients see meaningful change after one session; for most it is the cumulative effect of three that matters.
Does it hurt?
The blood draw is identical to a routine blood test — a small pinch. The treatment itself involves either micro-needling (mild sensation, like very fine sandpaper) or injection (small pinches). Most clients find it well-tolerated; numbing cream is applied beforehand where appropriate.
Is there downtime?
Mild redness and slight swelling for 24 hours is normal, similar to a workout-flushed appearance. Most clients return to normal activity immediately. Avoid heavy exercise, alcohol and saunas for 24 hours after treatment.
Is it safe?
Among the safest treatments in aesthetics. Because PRP is your own blood, there is no risk of allergic reaction, no foreign substance, and no incompatibility. All equipment used at Radiance is sterile and single-use. April is fully qualified, insured and registered with the relevant industry bodies.
Is it suitable for me?
Most people are good candidates for PRP, but suitability depends on your goals, skin or scalp condition, and general health. This is exactly what your free consultation covers — April will talk through whether PRP is the right fit, or whether something else might suit you better.
What does PRP cost?
Each PRP treatment is £250, whether for skin, hair or under-eye. A course of three sessions is typically recommended (£750 total), though we discuss this honestly at consultation based on what would actually benefit you.
Where will I be treated?
PRP treatments are best booked at the main Radiance clinic in Storrington, West Sussex, where the centrifuge and full equipment are based. Treatments are also available at our Hove venues with slightly more advance booking — see the Hove page for details.
How do I book?
The fastest way is to message us via WhatsApp. April will book your free consultation and recommend whether skin, hair, or under-eye PRP (or a combination) would suit you best.
